What Happens When there is No Will

Grant of letters of administration

If you are the next of kin and entitled to apply for probate, the probate registry, will issue a legal document known as a grant of letters of administration. Once issued the various assets can be collected and the estate administered. The Grant states the following information:-

  • The full name and address of the person who has died
  • The gross and net value of the estate
  • The name of the Administrator who the grant has been issued to
